Merstham Football Club is delighted to announce a new stadium sponsor for their Moatside ground.
With immediate effect the ground will be known as The Whisky Bible Stadium. Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible is the world’s leading and biggest selling whisky guide. The sponsorship deal is for an initial two-year period and will begin immediately. The partnership will include a range of advertising and promotional activities, as well as local community initiatives.
Merstham Chairman, Chris Chapman said, “We have known Jim for well over a decade, and he has been a regular visitor to our ground. He has always been interested in both the football and commercial side of the club, and are we are absolutely delighted that he has agreed to sponsor us for the next two seasons. The Whisky Bible is a global brand and Jim is the most internationally recognised, independent whisky authority. But more importantly, Jim is also a supporter of the club, so it’s great for us to have him onboard.”
Jim Murray, the author of the Whisky Bible and owner of its publishing company, Dram Good Books Ltd, said, “I was born in Merstham, just 250 yards from The Whisky Bible Stadium, and although my travels have taken me all over the world, I have always had a strong affinity with the club and take in their games whenever I can. I have been looking for an opportunity to get involved and assist the club and the stadium-naming rights seemed the perfect way to help. We plan to take our sponsorship further in the forthcoming years and we hope to encourage local businesses to follow our lead and support the marvellous club they have in their midst”.
