Merstham FC Ladies is a group of ladies, aged 30 and over, who were founded 2.5 years ago. When we started, most of us had never kicked a football before unless it was with our kids!! Taking inspiration from The Crawley Old Girls (COGS) and with the support of Merstham FC, I decided to set up a weekly training session and, from this, Merstham FC Ladies was born!

Since the start, as well as learning to play football and having a lot of fun, we have entered a number of women’s recreation tournaments, with our most successful reaching the semi finals!! Through doing the tournaments, we have met many like minded women in different teams across the county and although it’s very competitive on the pitch, it’s very friendly off the pitch! The sole purpose is to have fun and enjoy kicking a ball around...the tournaments are an optional bonus!

On a personal level, I have achieved my FA Level one coaching certificate and now help run the Merstham Mini Soccer School on a Saturday morning as well as making some great new friends. Alongside this, my assistant coach, Sarah, has also recently qualified as an FA Level one coach and supports with Mini there is an amazing opportunity for personal development.

If you would like to join us, you will learn something new, have a lot of fun, get a bit fitter along with way and..... there is no commitment, so you can come as and when you like. All of our sessions are run by qualified coaches. There is no pressure to go to tournaments, but I can guarantee you that you will enjoy them.

We currently have training on a Monday night 6:30-7:30 on Merstham Rec which is £3.00 per session with the first one being what do you have to lose? Pop down and see what it is all about!

If you would like to come along please contact me through our Facebook/Instagram/Twitter pages @Merstham FC Ladies or email me at

I look forward to seeing you!
